So last thursday I supported one of Ireland's most popular singer/songwriters Declan O'Rourke in The Academy Dublin and it was great, loved every second of it and couldn't believe 30 minutes could go so quickly. Time flies when your having fun I suppose?!
The day itself was brutal, it rained all day and i'd been up since 7:30 that morning and was on the go all day, so there was no one more pleased than I was when I eventually got to the venue to sound check and settle into the night ahead. I was joined by some friends, Labhaoise my backing singer and Len who produced my EP, he was gonna take some pics and provide some moral support. Also in the venue was another friend Shane Brennan who was filming the night for both myself and Declan. Shane having a production company called Moondance Productions had 3 cameras set up and so when the results are ready I'll put something up here.
But I loved it, it went really well and the crowd gave me a very good welcome and alot of their attention. The venue itself holds 650 people and when I came on it looked quite full from where I was standing, so I said it on the night and I meant it........................ its really nice to actually play to somebody! My previous gig involved playing to 2 people, I kid you not, so if that night was swings I'll take the roundabouts.
Anyways I'll keep you posted anyways on the footage from it.
All the best

Its like getting too much change in a shop, its a dilemma.. you need to be quick, ‘shall I take the money ?!’ ‘its a big outfit, they can afford it, but then again its stealing,,, but they’re ripping me off anyway’ ‘what to do?!’ of course if you take the cash you’re sure to be arrested, punched to the ground by a surly security guard, jostled by the Police, embarrassing court appearances, losing your job, , house, car, partner, all over 5 pence change... oh take the money .. **** it, thats what OBAMA is saying... you couldn’t really turn down a billion, then about another 4 billion over the pathetic $85 million that the Public Purse is giving him in the US Presidential elections, even though it has made him a liar already... its ******’ hilarious, its all about the ******’ money to these people, he could have done OK with the Public Funds, a million a day will buy you a lot of sincere and annoying TV adverts, but no, that's not enough, he has gone back on his word already, and decided to take the billions offered by contributors to his funds. I would do the same if I were him because I’m not a politician, I’m allowed to lie , cheat, scrabble around in the pool of despair that us ordinary beings have to contend with... I would be piling millions in to offshore bank accounts and buying up Islands of the coast of Panama (are there Islands there - must be ?), go in for a minor operation in some South American hospital, and quietly leave through the back door when no-one’s watching... but that's me !!! not the superhero of American politics, that all the little people have been donating their $25. dollars to, to get rid of the lying inept turd brain that they currently have residing in Capital Hill... c’mon kids if he’s lying now what's he going to do when he gets in ??!! liar liar pans on fire..
I was extremely impressed by The Verve at Glastonbury,,, not a big fan, but they seem to have turned in to a confident & huge stadium band, and certainly Richard Ashcroft has taken control, I liked the fact that he really sings, and has pushed his voice live and that there was so much space in their sound... I wish someone would give Mark Ronson a push off the precipice though, this was the most dreadful and 'show-band' load of tripe I've ever heard... why not go the whole hog and book himself out for weddings.. ******' dreadful, and take Lilly Allen with you, doesn't even know the lyrics to her own hit records.. probably because her Dad wrote it..
I'm on Holidays since 6th June, but still with a bit of work to do.
I am going to premiere two plays, the first one next week, the second one 26th July. Next week's play is going to be lika "made in the moment" kind of play which we can change anything at anytime.
Yesterday I had a concert from the music school I'm in. I played D. Aguado's Andante and "One" by U2. Then I sang a 3-portuguese-music medley with a boy. The Andante was NOT good - It's classical and I forgot everything, I was really nervous... I played the song the whole day and the day before, I can't believe I forgot EVERYTHING when I was there =/ (I PROMISSE I CAN PLAY IT!! xD). On the other hand, singing and playing U2 was great (I confused myself in the middle with the lyrics, but whatever), everyone was starring at me like "wow" (my friends' statement - they did it too). The same thing happened when I sang the "3-song medley", everyone was starring at us like they didn't do with the other people.
Flashback to 18th June, at night, I couldn't sleep, I would have my first national exam of Geometry ever! The next day, there I was, prepared and wishing for a 100% correct test. It was soo good, I started trembling but after the first exercise I was confident and in the end I really did have everything correct!
What's the problem? If they start removing points for everything unnecessarily, I can get a lower not (I wanted a 20 - from 0 to 20) like a 19. Whatever, let's just wait until the results come out.
Flashforward xD
About the music's evolution... my microphone broke down and I need another one to record them! The instrumentals, however, are almost done ;D
Well, I dunno what else can I say.. I wish next time I post here I have something new to show you.. Music, video, whatever.
So, goodbye for now,
Hugs n Ties,
Filipex
its the last day of pushing myself on an unsuspecting Public relentlessly, after all there are much more interesting things going on, like the new 'Green Taxes' Gordon Brown' is imposing so we can pay more for Global warming, deal done, sounds good to me, only I don't have a warming yet, just rain rain rain, so I may be going and kicking Gordon in the goolies, Gordon in the goolies Gordon in the goolies (join in!)

Author: Max Chen aka Stegosaurus Rex At first glance from the CD art, I thought the music contained inside would be terrible. This is clearly an instance of "don’t judge an album by its cover," because the tracks were loaded with some of the best tracks I have heard in a while. Filled to the brim with an eclectic mix of shoegaze and soul, peace and power, rhythm and restlessness, Marshall Star’s Cosmos is a winner. From the first track "Goodbye Truly," I was presented with a taste of vocalist Mandy’S Bright powerful breath competing with the complex, noisy layers of post-punk sound, and I knew that there were going to be some gems on the recording. Track 4 "The Pleasure Seekers" eerily reminds me with its desolate lyrics and its heavy synth-pop beat of Eurythmics "Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of These)." Track SCRATCHMAGAZINE.COM - Though bands such as Portishead and Morcheeba have made inroads in similar styles, no band yet has pushed the envelope as far as Marshall Star. Give this U.K. band huge marks for creativity and an uncompromising attitude. ‘it’s an album with a ferocio us vocal talent‘ - Whisperin&Hollerin reviews website
yes, I know, I didn't send anything out to the worldly planet of interweb for a couple of days, christ give me a break... my intertwerp has been off, quite nice really, people seem to get along fine without the internonce,,, well here goes, it won't be much longer, but a girl (a eerrr lady in my case probably) has to push herself: Marshall Star - "Cosmos" - CD - [Furry Records UK) REVIEWS UNFUNRECORDS.COM http://unfunrecords.com/wordpress/?p=83 Author: Max Chen aka Stegosaurus Rex At first glance from the CD art, I thought the music contained inside would be terrible. Sound: Jon Bon Jovi's singing was fantastic, he didn't seem to miss a note and neither did Richie when he took the Mic for the classic "I'll Be There For You". The setup of the band was quite simple, Jon Bon Jovi switched between an Acoustic and a Telecaster for most of the songs and Richie had a new guitar brought on for each song, David Bryan had two Yamaha keyboards and Tico Torrez had a decent drum setup at the back of the stage. The sound quality was fairly good although the guitar rarely broke through the mix and the bass didn't at all, Richies guitar solos could barely be heard and Jons lines were pretty quiet too, the vocals and drums were the only think I could really hear.
Perfomance: I absolutely loved the performance and so did the rest of the people around us. The most memorable songs they played were:
Lost Highway - pretty standard performance but a great way to open the show.
Runaway - JBJ started it with the line "Once Upon A Time" and then pointed to David Bryan who came in with the opening line, as usual Jon did a solo at the end which was barely audible.
Bad Medicine - JBJ started with the line "Is Their a Doctor in the House?" and the crowd instantly new what was coming, very fun performance which they stopped in the middle to play the song "Shout" then did a ling break with some crazy antics from the lead man, then the final chorus.
In These Arms - got everyone singing along to this one and it rained on the line "Like the Roses need the Rain" which I found quite specail.
Captain Crash And The Beauty Queen From Mars - didn't expect that one but still fun.
Keep The Faith - got me singing along (which is an achievement) and JBJ showed a fantastic vocal performance.
Blaze Of Glory - another song that got the whole crowd going and Richie did some excellent slide work.
Just Older - took me a while to figure out which song it was but the chorus as fantastic.
Who Says You Can't Go Home - JBJ sung this one on his own and they managed to drag the song out for a good ten minutes.
Livin' On A Prayer - Jon started off with a slow Acapella chorus and they all came with in with the intro. Memorable performance to end the show.
Always - lighters in hand kinda performancen which I had to leave before but a massive chorus was filling the surrounding area around the stadium.
The most unusual moment of the show was during "Who Says You Can't Go Home" when during the final chorus JBJ brought out a small child and interviewed him on stage then sung the last part of the song with him. The bakc of the stage had incredile lighting displays which gave visual aids to the songs and words and gave some great animations.
Impression: England, Coventry, Ricoh Arena on the 24th of June. The band Who opened I had never heard of and apparently won a competition to play with Bon Jovi, they were very good but I missed their name and they completely out played the real support acts "The Feeling" Who were absolutely appalling and seemed to be under the impression they were rock Gods. I loved the fact that Bin Jovi were there and the fact that they did such a brilliant show, I hated the 5 hours of standing and the support acts. The tickets were £45 + VAT and they were definatley worth all the money and the masses of travelling to get there. The most unforgettable moments were the interview JBJ did with the young kid and their performance of "Livin' On A Prayer". I wont go to their next gig because this one was a lot of hassle but I will remember this one for a long time.
Pop star Avril Lavigne is less than one million hits away from scoring the No. 1 most viewed video on YouTube - but doubts have been raised over how her massive ratings have been achieved.
Girlfriend, the first single from Lavigne's 2007 album Best Damn Thing, has had 88,907,202 views on the video sharing site at the time of writing.
That's less than one million views away from YouTube's biggest video, Evolution of Dance.
But doubts have been raised as to whether Lavigne's video has really been watched that many times.
Fans have set up a website that refreshes every 15 seconds, adding to Lavigne's Girlfriend view count.
The website's creator said: "Avril Lavigne's Girlfriend music video is less than one million views away from becoming the most watched video of all time on YouTube.
"So what we're attempting won't be easy but ... Bahh who am I kidding? Of course it will be easy because we have a secret weapon."
The website, which has boosted the clip's tally by just under 120,000 views since it launched on June 19, encourages fans to keep the site open to boost Girlfriend's views.
YouTube has a strict policy that prohibits the use of automated systems to increase page impressions.
It was enforced earlier this year when a fan-made clip of Brazilian band Cansei de Ser Sexy's song Music Is My Hot Hot Sex reached the top spot in record time, before being removed.

RELEASE DATE: 24 June 2008
DISCS: 1 disc
GENRE(S): Rock, Metal
Since their last hit record, 1989's Dr. Feelgood, Mötley Crüe fans have endured countless live albums, "greatest-hits" collections, reissues and B-sides packages, two records with John Corabi on vocals, one with Randy Castillo behind the kit and one with the original line-up that sank with barely a trace (1997's Generation Swine). The most successful thing the band produced in those ensuing years was its tell-all autobiography, The Dirt, a story so drenched in sex, drugs, and rock & roll that it elicited a venereal disease and a contact high just through picking it up. That book is the impetus behind Saints of Los Angeles, the first record to feature the group's original lineup since Feelgood, and it's a welcome -- though spotty -- return to form for these aging miscreants. The Crüe are at their best when they mine the manic, punk-infused glam metal of the pre-saturated, mid-'80s Sunset Strip, something they get right on opening cut "Face Down in the Dirt," complete with a Shout at the Devil-era, "In the Beginning"-inspired intro. "Down at the Whisky" echoes the West Coast excess of Girls, Girls, Girls, managing to wax both nostalgic and devious while dutifully summing up the band's rise from local pranksters to international bad boys, while the rousing title cut, though a bit forced, manages to drum up the kind of chest-thumping bravado that sparked some of the best metal anthems of the late '80s. Like all Crüe albums, things start to go south about halfway through, and while the performances and subject matter are as raucous and sadistic as the book upon which they're based, it's all a bit too deliberate. Mötley Crüe have been trumpeting their hedonism for so long and so loudly that it's become more of a caricature than a way of life, and while Saints of Los Angeles is the best thing they've laid to tape since their codpiece heydays, it's more of a walk down memory lane/Sunset Strip than a legitimate call to arms.
Country legend George Jones has raided the archives for his next album, "Burn Your Playhouse Down: The Unreleased Duets," due Aug. 19 via Bandit Records.
The songs were recorded from the mid-'70s to as recently as last year. Several of the tracks are leftovers from Jones' 1994 release "The Bradley Barn Sessions" (MCA) and other contributions were extras from 1991's "Friends in High Places" (Epic).
The remaining two songs are "Lovin' You, Lovin' Me," a duet between Jones and ex-wife Tammy Wynette, and "You and Me and Time," featuring Wynette's daughter Georgette Jones.
